The royalty of Anglos is unique in that while it favors the children of the previous ruler, if a child does not posess powerful magic they are immediately disinherited. This means that the ruler of Anglos is always a powerful mage in their own right.
House Clarentian is the current ruling family of Anglos. They came to power after King Smilodent seized power when the previous king's sons proved magically inferior.
King Smilodent Clarentian is the previous ruler of Anglos. He was considered one of the most powerful mages in Anglos and wielded a staff with enough magical power to level a city. He won the throne after the previous king's twelve sons all proved magically weak. Smilodent was the previous king's bodyguard. He seized power immediately after the previous king died.
Prince Barbarius Clarentian was to be his brother's successor. He was a powerful Ferromancer. Barbarius was misogynistic and had an open disdain for his niece and other women that held powerful offices. This lead to him being assassinated by a lord who only had daughters and feared losing their family's territory if Barbarius became king.
King Leona Clarentian is the current ruler of the Anglosian crown. After her uncle was assassinated and the male heir proved very weak with magic, she became her father's only hope of continuing his dynasty. Leona is small blonde whose eyes shine with magic. She is a Sorceress of immense power, rumored to be even stronger than her uncle ever was. Her father made her his heir as a last hope to extent his line. Anglos having no precedent of a female ruler does not know the title of queen, as such she was given the title of king.
Servalo Clarentian is the youngest child of King Smilodent's deceased brother Speleo and became the only male heir after Barbarius' assassination. He is very weak in magic and as such was disinherited. This means he is technically not allowed to carry the title of prince, though people have started to mockingly refer to him as the Princeling. He seeks to find a marriage that will allow him to continue his lavish lifestyle even after Leona inherited the throne.
Acinyx is the older sister of Leona and one of the gifted, but nowhere near as powerful as her younger sister. As such she was overlooked in the succession and instead kept around as a pawn for political marriage in case Leona needs to forge an important alliance.
Lynuks is the younger sister of Leona and was chosen to inherit the ancestral keep of Godsgrace which they ruled as barons before their father took the crown. By all accounts she is a quiet studious girl.
