Demons are a group of beings from outside the normal races of Tegai. They're beings who have a close connection to Daimon and some say that they are even born from the power itself. While demons often see the common races as inferior, they are not inheritely evil, and some demons have even been known to even help destroy evil.
Oni are the main type of demon found in Ippo and some parts of Mandaria. There are three subspecies consisting of Ogres, Akuma and Asuras. They are a carnivorous type of demon who does not shy away from consuming sentient creatures. They often stand taller and broader than other races and have long fangs in their lower jaw.
Ogres are a subspecies of oni. They are tall heavy beings with horns on their head and skin colors ranging from blue to red. They are territorial beings and will be aggressive towards any intruder that cannot provide them the proper tribute. While females live solitary, males often pair up. It is believed that they do this so that they can overpower the often stronger female for mating. They often carry Kanabo.
Akuma are a subspecies of oni. They are winged creatures of immense stature and look to heavy to fly. They often wield greatswords. Their skin color ranges from blue to red and they have long fiery hair ranging from orange to pure white in color. They can have horns, but not all of them do. Male akuma are very aggressive and seek to test their strength against worhy opponents. The larger female akuma however are mostly docile and stay away from civilization.
Asuras are a subspecies of oni. They are large muscular beings with four limbs. Their skin color follows the normal blue to red range of other oni, but can also be white, yellow or black. They often wear masks on the sides of their head giving rise to the belief they have multiple faces. Asuras are the main type of oni in Mandaria. Asuras have a strong connection to plants and especially female Asuras, sometimes referred to as Asuri, are known as great natural healers.
Jankulspawn is a type of common demon with red skin and horns. They were first seen in Kuchmacher and were believed to be the offspring of Jankul. Jankulspawn were long seen as evil beings by the Macherian, but with the Zilveric adoption of Jankul as a goddess they started to be seen as natural allies. To this day Jankulspawn are accepted as good demons by Zilverrijk.
Drakes are demonic mockeries of Draconians. They come in many shapes and sizes, but there are a few common types. Below some of the most commonly appearing drakes.
Pseudo-dragons appear as very small and slender dragons. They rarely grow larger then a common housecat. Pseudo-dragons are very opportunistic creatures and will attach themselves to a person, taking their food in trade for serving as a familiar of their new Doomsayer.
Hydras are great multi-headed drakes. They come in verious shapes and sizes but a common trait is that they can grow back any heads they have lost. It is unclear if the heads contain seperate intelligences or are somehow connected to one central intelligence.
Rainbow Serpents are great mockeries of wyrms. They have many colors and are considered to be very beautiful. Some claiming their colors to be hypnotic.
Stormdrakes, also known as lindworms, are powerful drakes that are most like dragons. Though lacking the front limbs, making them similair to Wyverns in that regard. Instead of a breath weapon, they summon lightning and great winds to mimic the breath of true dragons.
Lionturtles are the least draconic of the drakes. They have the body of massive furred beasts with a lion-like head and mane, regardless of sex. They also have a great shield covering their back. Their tail is long and serpentine and they can have up to twelve legs. Some scholars argue they're not drakes at all, but a seperate type of demon. But they retain their classification thanks to ancient people referring to them as Dragons.
When a demon for whatever reason exchanges their power over Daimon for Divinity, they become what's known as an ascended. An ascended loses their original form and takes on the form of a humanoid made of light baring a white robe. Some believe this was the original form of demons before Daimon twisted their bodies into the many forms we know today.
Fiends are the most populous type of demons and originate from Allegoy. There are many kinds of fiends, though they are clasified in twelve main groups which have an inherit hierarchy.
Drudes are the first main group of fiends. This group consists of demons that take the form of horned elves with bright colors that stalk through the night. They are mostly solitary, though sometimes collect into a massive horde known as a wild hunt.
Archdemons are a class of higher demons and the second main group of fiends. They are believed to originate from Ibilios himself and appear as red skinned horned beings with long tails. They can have hooves and wings too. There skin is mostly human-like or a shade of red. But in rare cases can take on any other color.
Succubi are the third main group of fiends. They are an entirerly female type of fiends and the counterpart of the male incubi. They are seductresses and known to enjoy toying with the mortal races. They can reshape their bodies, but prefer that of a beautiful horned woman with leathery wings.
Incubi are the fourth main group of fiends. Once thought to be their own species called Alpes, it was later discovered that they were actually the male counterparts of succubi. Though their name was changed to reflect this, they are still counted as a seperate group despite this. Like succubi, they can reshape their bodies, though prefer the form of a feminine beautiful man with a long tail. It is said that they target young mothers of the mammalian races as they love the taste of breastmilk.
Djinn are the fifth main group of fiends. They are known as tricksters and will often appear to mortals with the promise of granting wishes. They abandoned their creator and do not adhere to the inherit hierarchy. They appear as colorful beings and can levitate above the ground. Djinn are somewhat gaseous and as such can be trapped in bottles or oillamps.
Rakshashas are the man-eating giants among demonkind and the sixth main group of fiends. Each rakshasha has a unique appearance, the only commonality being their immense size.
Divs are the seventh main group of fiends. They are considered the most powerful of the minor demons. Some Divs claim to have once been gods in their own right, but have fallen from worship. They come in several different forms, but mostly take the appearance of furry or scaled humanoids. Favoring claws and teeth over conventional weapons.
Bokkenrijders are the eight main group of fiends. They are small black-skinned humanoids who often ride goats like warsteeds. These bokkenrijders are known for banditry and raiding. They can sometimes be convinced to serve as cavalry for powerful lords, but are hard to keep loyal.
Cambions are the ninth main group of fiends. They are demons that possess mortal blood in them and are often the children of Succubi, Incubi or Djinn. Though in theory any fiend can produce a Cambion. Cambions often retain some features from their mortal parent.
Horned Serpents, also known as Fiery Serpents or Nachashes, are known as great tricksters. They are the tenth main group of fiends and like to take the form of snakes. They often bring gifts of gold that turn to manure or decieve people into breaking the laws of a nation.
Imps are the eleventh main group of fiends. While they are the most numerous, they are also fairly weak. They are small with skinny humanoid bodies. They have horns, wings and a long tail and come in all colors. Imps can often be trapped as familiars to Spellcasters.
Lemures are the twelfth main group of fiends. They are the most varied of the fiends as they consist of all the fiendish creatures who are not able to fit any other classification.
Black Donalds are a race of demons originating from Sconia. They are humanoid demons with black skin and hooves. They often take the disguise of mortals to work their schemes.
